Acid Washing/ Chlorine Bath

Swimming pool acid washing or chlorine baths is a great way to make your pool look new again!

Acid Washing is done by emptying the pool and spraying it with a small, diluted amount of special acid. This acid will remove a thin layer of pool plaster and the mineral buildup that is coating the top of the plaster to reveal a bright, new layer of plaster underneath.

chlorine wash goes hand in hand with a Green Pool Cleaning Service. During a chlorine wash we drain the entire pool with an electric pump. The pump has an auto shut off so the customer doesn’t have to be home or do anything during the pool drain process. We set the pump up, normally in the afternoon, then let it run overnight and come back the next morning to work. During the chlorine wash we use several gallons of liquid chlorine which we pour directly onto the pool surface. We scrub the entire pool with the chlorine which kills and disinfects all contaminants including hidden algae spores. This is an effective treatment for swimming pool algae removal. Our chlorine is full strength, not diluted. The chlorine wash cleans the surface of the pool very well, removing dirt and some stains.

Tile Cleaning (Glass Bead Method)

Get a better and more complete cleaning with Arizona Pool Remodeling & Service's Tile Cleaning!

Glass bead blasting or pool bead blasting is a shot blast process which removes calcium deposits by applying fine glass beads to a low air pressure stream which gently removes deposits. When done properly calcium can be removed without damaging the surface. It is used to clean deposits left on the surfaces of your pool. It also removes embedded algae and brightens tile grout. Glass bead blasting is a safe and effective technique to completely remove the calcium and scale deposits from your back yard attraction. The results are far better than using harsh acids and chemicals which take more time and money to remove the scale.

Glass beads are manufactured from lead-free, soda lime-type glass, containing no free silica that is made into preformed ball shapes. Glass beads produce a much smoother and brighter finish than angular medias. Glass bead blasting produces a clean, bright, satin finish, without damage to your pool. Glass beads are easy to vacuum and can be recycled approximately 30 times. Chemically inert and environmentally friendly, glass bead blasting is a great method for removing calcium from your pools surface.

Removal of Calcium Nodules (Grind/Sanding)

Get the pool of your dreams and notice the difference in your pool's surface and water clarity when you choose the experts at Arizona Pool Remodeling & Service!

White calcium (or scale) can form and embed on the walls and floor of your pool for several reasons. Most commonly, pool owners often have difficulty keeping the rising pH in balance, particularly when their pool is new. High pH is a major reason for calcium formation and growth. Calcium scale is a common issue in concrete pools and is often very challenging to remove because the calcium will continue to grow and eventually become harder than the pool surface material. If calcium is left untreated it can lift, bubble, crack and break up the cement pool surface over time causing serious and costly damage to your pool. Sadly we often inspect pool surfaces that are completely destroyed by several hundred calcium spots.

To prevent calcium build-up in swimming pools, it is vital that the water is maintained perfectly year round and that calcium prevention products are used.
